Utah DEM HF Net
From the Utah DEM Communications Plan:
The purpose of these statewide Utah DEM ARV radio nets is to train Utah DEM amateur radio volunteers to operate and test State, County, and Local Government EOC Emergency Communications, test the volunteer’s radio equipment, link stations, EOCs, Agencies, etc. and improve communication between the Utah State Capitol and the remainder of the State.1
UCARES participates in this statewide net in a semi-informal way. We encourage our operators to check-in to this net. We also have a requirement in our Levels of Certification that you must check-in to this net at least once.
When and Where
When: Third Saturday of odd numbered months at 0800hrs
Where: 3920Khz. +/- QRM
Only Amateur General Class licensees or above or those lesser class licensees in the presence of a control operator that has an Amateur General Class license or above and registered with Utah DEM, are authorized to transmit on this Net.1
