Level Four

Prepares you for a leading role in Emergency Operations.

Prerequisites

1. Complete Utah County ARES Level 3 Certification

Ensure you have completed all the requirements for the Level 3 certification.

Training Requirements

2. Complete NIMS online course ICS-200.c

Attach a copy of the certification to your submission.

3. Complete NIMS online course ICS-800.d

Attach a copy of the certification to your submission.

Equipment Requirements

4. LiFePo4 (preferred), Sealed gel, or AGM cell battery

  • 10 Ah minimum
  • AC battery charger
  • powerpole connectors

5. 12v LED lamp with powerpole connectors

6. Backup handheld 2M/70cm radio and spare antenna

Liaison Visits

7. Four check-ins to UCARES or VHF RACES Nets from a liaison EOC on agency night

You must visit different agencies each time, as listed in the UCARES ARES Field Manual.

Participation Log

8. Participate in 6 UCARES Weekly Nets (1 must be simplex)

9. Attend two UCARES Interface Meetings

10. Participate in four UCARES sponsored public service events or official ARES callouts

11. Participate in one UCARES sponsored SET

12. Serve as Assistant Net Control for four UCARES Weekly Nets

13. Serve as Net Control for four UCARES Weekly Nets

14. Check in to one RACES HF net

15. Help organize radio communications for two events
