ARES Interface – Tues. 07-Feb-2006 1900h N. Annex building at Sheriff’s Office (I-15 Exit 260; talk-in on 147.34 repeater)
Keith, KB7M, will review radio specifications, then afford us the opportunity to put our radios on a service monitor to see how our radios actually perform.
Interface will be Tues. 07-Feb-2006 at the usual time in the usual place, at 1900h (7pm) in the North Annex building at the Sheriff’s Office.
Keith McQueen, KB7M, will be our featured presenter; he will be explaining all of those mysterious phrases used in the specification section of your radio (things like SINAD, sensitivity, selectivity, etc.), and Keith is bringing his Service Monitor — an expensive bit of equipment that will allow us to test OUR equipment, much the same way that ARRL does for reviews published in QST. So bring your radios, and something to write with so you can take notes!
Additionally Bryan Perry, AD7GI, will be bringing the safety vest he’s proposing we get as a group-buy so we all have something … ’cause having something is always better than having nothing, right?
