The Provo Freedom Festival Parade probably is the biggest Event that we support. The Provo Freedom Festival is Tuesday, July 4th. from 0600 to 1200. Provo City needs us to help with communications along the parade route. This event is the biggest UCARES event of the year, not because it’s a parade, but because we expect more than 300,000 parade goers to come and enjoy it. Putting a volunteer at each block helps out local police/fire for the occasional emergency, but mostly for missing/found persons. This event also hones our ’emergency radio skills’. When you have over sixty ham radio volunteers on a Net, you learn how to communicate. The Pre Parade interface will be on Tuesday, June 25th. at the North Annex training room (North West side of the building) at the Utah County Sheriffs Office.
