TERT (Timpanogos Emergency Response Team)
2017 Training Days
Who: If you love hiking in the mountains, serving your community, and have medical or amateur radio certifications, TERT may be for you!
What: TERT is a non-paid volunteer organization that cooperates with U.S. Forest Service, Utah County Sheriff’s Office, and Utah County Search and Rescue to provide first aid and radio communications on Mount Timpanogos on weekends during the summer months.
When: Each year TERT holds two training days for its volunteers. This year’s training days include:
- Indoor Training, Saturday April 22 at Utah Valley Hospital, Clark Auditorium at 1280 N 500 W in Provo, Utah 84664, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Outdoor Training, Saturday May 20, at Aspen Grove Trailhead at Theater-In-The-Pines (2 miles past Sundance Ski Resort), 9:00 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m.
Commitment: TERT is looking for reliable volunteers who are current EMT’s and above or who are amateur radio license holders. Others with good outdoor sense are also welcome. To be a member of TERT you must come to the training days and fill two weekend shifts per season. Weekend shifts usually last from Friday late afternoon to Sunday morning.
