Level Four VHF Certification Requirements
To prepare the UCARES member for a leading role in Emergency Operations the member must obtain Level Four Certification. The member must already hold Level Three Certification, possess the following equipment and complete the specified training. The member must then submit this form to the Emergency Coordinator for approval.
- Equipment Requirements
- 70cm handheld (preferred) or mobile radio
- Gelcell battery (10Ahr minimum) and appropriate charger with powerpoles
- 12V lamp (LED, flourescent or incandescent) with powerpoles
- Training Requirements
- Participate in four UCARES or RACES agency nets from a liaison location
- Participate in six UCARES weekly nets (one must be simplex)
- Attend two UCARES Interface meetings
- Participate in one UCARES sponsored SET
- Participate in four UCARES sponsored public service events or official callouts (as a radio operator)
- Act as the Assistant Net Control Station on four UCARES weekly nets
- Act as the Net Control Station on four UCARES weekly nets
