Level Three VHF Certification Requirements
To prepare the UCARES member for a responsible role in Emergency Operations the member must obtain Level Three Certification. The member must already hold Level Two Certification, possess the following equipment and complete the specified training. The member must then submit this form to the Emergency Coordinator for approval.
- Equipment Requirements
- 2m or 2m/70cm (preferred) mobile synthesized radio (25 Watts or better); with
- Spare fuses and cables as necessary
- Powerpole to cigarette lighter adapter cable
- Powerpole to alligator clips cable
- Powerpole three way splitter
- 2m or 2m/70cm (preferred) mobile synthesized radio (25 Watts or better); with
- Training Requirements
- Complete the FEMA online course IS-700a (NIMS, an introduction)
- Visit two liaison locations (and have a registered liaison assignment)
- Participate in six UCARES weekly nets
- Attend two UCARES Interface meetings
- Participate in two Utah State VHF RACES nets
- Participate in one UCARES sponsored SET
- Participate in one UCARES sponsored public safety event
