To prepare the UCARES member for a participating role in Emergency Operations the member must register with UCARES and obtain Level One Certification. The member must possess the following equipment and complete the specified training.  The member must then submit this form to the Emergency Coordinator for approval.

  • Equipment Requirements
    • 2m or 2m/70cm (preferred) synthesized handheld radio; with
      • Alkaline battery pack and spare alkaline batteries
      • Earphone
    • Binder containing the following:
      • Utah County ARES Field Manual
      • Map of Utah County
      • Blank Paper
      • Zipper pouch with pens and pencils
  • Training Requirements
    • Visit two liaison locations during UCARES or RACES nets
    • Participate in six UCARES weekly nets (one must be simplex)
    • Attend one UCARES Interface meeting
